The bill that legalizes Hemp

December 4, 2018

This year Missouri will have a Christmas surprise that will not be easy to open. As in family we wait for Christmas to open the gifts that are under the tree, the hemp has had under its regaso one million benefits for the industry. Already our representatives are beginning to uncover the hemp gift boxes and are giving the United States the opportunity for 2018 to be the year with the greatest progress in the medical cannabis industry.

As a matter of fact, one of the most recognize faces in the Republican party on Capitol Hill, Senator Mitch McConnell,  filed a bill to radically change federal laws that currently makes hemp illegal for all purposes.

"For the first time in 80 years, this bill legalizes hemp. We forget, but hemp was widely grown in the United States throughout the mid-1800s," - Said, Senator Michael Bennet during a speech.

Hemp is deeply rooted specially to the state of Kentucky’s past. But growing hemp without a federal permit was banned decades ago because of its classification as a controlled substance related to marijuana. Hemp and marijuana are the same species, but hemp has a negligible amount of THC.
